Edvard Munch is the most famous Norwegian artist in history and is considered one of the pioneers in Expressionism. His Skrik (The Scream) is one of the most recognized paintings in the world. The Munch Museum, about a 10-minute walk from Karl Johan, contains thousands of Munch’s paintings, donated to the city in accordance with his last will.
